Beef Cattle Regulations

  1. Owners & exhibitors must be in total control of cattle, exercising due caution regarding public safety and public liability & livestock insurance.
  2. Those using electrical equipment must follow requirements of the Work Health & Safety Act 2011. see Notice, back page.
  3. Age as at April 1st, 2023.
  4. All cattle must be paraded on the day of the show as Committee requires. All ribbon winners to join Grand Parade.
  5. Duplicate or photo copy of registration certificate of Pure Bred cattle must accompany entries, for return on judging day.
  6. All exhibits under 18 months may be mouthed prior to judging in accordance with RAS regulations. Cattle not complying will be re-graded accordingly.
  7. Cattle to be stalled by 8.30 am in allocated areas & ready when Stewards call their class.
  8. All bulls over 12 months must be rung. All bulls under 12 months to have a nose grip.
  9. All females must be paraded with a nose grip.
  10. All Poll and dehorned cattle must be stalled with neck straps.
  11. A calf of the exhibit is admitted if it is under the age of 8 months on the day & is being suckled by the exhibit. RAS regulation No 6
  12. Exhibitors supply own Bedding.
  13. All cattle must comply with NSW Dept. of Agriculture Health Regulations.
  14. Exhibitors must attach Johnnes Declaration to warrant tested free stall areas.
  15. All exhibitors must attach Pesti Virus Free test certificate.
  16. ALL CATTLE MUST BE TAGGED WITH NLIS TAGS
  17. ALL STALLS TO BE KEPT & LEFT CLEAN & TIDY.
  18. Indemnity forms MUST be signed by all competitors.

BRITISH & EUROPEAN (including Bos Indicus) TO BE JUDGED SEPARATELY
NOTE: Classes may be re-grouped at the discretion of the Chief Steward. Ribbons to 3rd place, Broad Ribbons to Champions and Reserves. Cash Prizes – Classes – 1st $10, 2nd $5 (at least 3 entries in class).

MOST SUCCESSFUL EXHIBITOR – BEEF CATTLE: Trophy
The winner being the highest point scorer out of all breeds. No additional points for Champions and Reserve.

  • The Class is for a steer showing NO permanent teeth, to be prepared and exhibited by a full time school student or exhibitor under 18 years of age as at 30/06/22.
  • The steer and handler must be the same for each Show in this Class.
  • To be judged taking into consideration student handling and knowledge.
  • Points to be awarded to a maximum of 10 placings and each competitor receives 10 points for attendance.
  • Competitors in the Junior Steer Competition are encouraged to exhibit in other open steer classes that may be scheduled on the day. Where schools are exhibiting, other students may parade the steer competing in the Junior Steer Competition in an open class.

COVID RESTRICTIONS IN PLACE AT THE TIME WILL APPLY ON THE SHOWGROUND

EXHIBITORS, COMPETITORS & STALLHOLDERS REQUIREMENT UNDER WORK HEALTH AND SAFETY ACT 2011

Any person using electrical equipment (power leads/devices/appliances etc) whilst on the Showground is required to ensure that such equipment is fitted with earth leakage circuit breakers & that all such leads/appliances/devices etc have been inspected & tagged by a licensed electrical contractor.

Persons who do not comply with the above regulations will not be permitted to exhibit, operate a stand/stall, or compete on the show ground.

Robertson A & H Society Inc. reserves the right to disconnect any electrical leads/devices/equipment that do not comply with the above regulation.

To avoid any problems arising in regard to the above regulations it is advised that you check your electrical equipment BEFORE you come to the Showground. Electrical leads are not permitted to be trailed along the ground unprotected from the power source. The Show Society appreciates your co-operation.

ACCIDENT & PUBLIC RISK INSURANCE:

Any accident occurring during the period of the Show must be reported to the Secretary’s Office and verified during the current dates of the Show, otherwise the Robertson Show Society will accept NO responsibility for the consideration of any claims.
