2023 Spring Dairy Cattle Show

Saturday 14th October 2023

Join us on 14th October 2023 for our inaugural Spring Dairy Show which will be the only event on the showground on the day. Strong support from entrants and amazing sponsors will see it find a permanent place on the Show calendar.

We promise quality cattle accommodation, excellent parade grounds , top breed judges, excellent prize money and youth competitions, along with travel subsidies. The Bush Café, will provide all you need in the way of food and great coffee. Feed, bedding and any other requirements can be organised through AgriWest Robertson on 02 48 852 219, to save you the hassle of bringing it all with you.

ENTRY FEES: $5 per entry
TRAVEL SUBSIDY: For all exhibitors who travel from outside the Wingecarribee Shire, a refund of $15.00 per head of cattle shown at Robertson will be paid. Please use standard cattle entry forms.
ENTRIES CLOSE: Monday, 9th October 2023 for catalogue production. No late entries accepted.
Entries via email is preferred.
Details of the competitor and spectator need to be provided at the time of entry.
RIBBONS: Awarded to 3rd place in all classes.

CHAMPION & RESERVE CHAMPION RIBBONS & HONORABLE MENTION: awarded in all Champion Classes. 1st & 2nd Place Winners in each class to be paraded/eligible for Champion Classes.

Dairy Cattle Regulations

  1. All cattle must be under total control of their attendants.
  2. Age of all Registered Cattle decided on registered age and will date on or after July 1st 2023.
    Refer dates following:
    Heifer under 6 months – born on or after 1st July 23
    Heifer under 12 months – born between 1st July 22 – 1st July 23
    Heifer 12 & under 18 months – born between 1st Jan 22 – 1st July 22
    Heifer 18 months & under 2 yrs – born between 21st January 21 – 1st July 22
    Cow in Milk under 2½ yrs – born on or after 1st July 22
    Cow in Milk 2½ yrs & under 3 yrs – born between 1st January 20 – 1st July 22
    Cow in Milk 3 yrs & under 4 yrs – born between 1st July 19 – 1st July 20
    Cow in Milk 4 yrs & under 5 yrs – born between 1st July 18 – 30th June 19
    Cow in Milk 5 yrs & over – born before 1st July 2018
    Age of unregistered cattle decided on tooth test. Name, Date of Birth & Tattoo no. of all registered cattle must be included on Entry Form. Registration certificate to be produced if required. Animals 1 yr & under 2 yrs not to have any permanent teeth, 2 yrs & under 3 yrs to have no less than 5 or less than 4 permanent teeth. Teeth of competing animals to be examined by stewards.
  3. Prize winners to be on the ground and to parade when called on.
  4. All attendants must appear in clean and tidy condition when leading cattle to be judged on parade.
  5. Prize winners competing in Pens or Groups not permitted to parade displaying previously won ribbons.
  6. Loss by Disease: The signing of the Certificate of Entry of any animal will be taken as a guarantee that the animal specified is free from disease. In cases of infectious diseases being spread through or by an exhibit, the exhibitor shall be responsible.
  7. In cases of joint ownership, points for most successful exhibitor only to be awarded to name in which the exhibit has been entered.
  8. Premier cattle breeders of each breed to be an exhibitor on the day.
  9. ALL STALLS TO BE LEFT CLEAN AND TIDY AT COMPLETION OF THE SHOW.
  10. Exhibitors please bring own washing hoses.
  11. Indemnity Forms MUST be signed by all competitors.
  12. Registration Certificates must be produced if required by Stewards and/or Inspectors.
  13. All cattle must have NLIS tags.
  14. Owners &/or exhibitors/competitors are solely responsible for the care & control of all stock in their charge. They must exercise due caution in regards to public safety. It is their responsibility to ensure that they have adequate public liability & livestock insurance.

COVID RESTRICTIONS IN FORCE AT THE TIME OF THE SHOW WILL APPLY ON THE SHOWGROUND.

  • Please stay home if you are sick or are considered high risk.
    You may respectfully be asked to leave the Showground if you do not comply with guidelines, including following all hygiene and physical distancing guidelines. Should this occur to a competitor, entry fees will not be refunded.

EXHIBITORS, COMPETITORS & STALLHOLDERS REQUIREMENT UNDER WORK HEALTH & SAFETY ACT 2011

  • Any person using electrical equipment (power leads/devices/appliances etc) whilst on the Showground is required to ensure that such equipment is fitted with earth leakage circuit breakers & that all such leads/appliances/devices etc have been inspected & tagged by a licensed electrical contractor.
  • Persons who do not comply with the above regulations will not be permitted to exhibit, operate a stand/stall, or compete on the show ground.
  • Robertson A & H Society Inc. reserves the right to disconnect any electrical leads/devices/equipment that do not comply with the above regulation.
  • To avoid any problems arising in regard to the above regulations it is advised that you check your electrical equipment BEFORE you come to the Showground. Electrical leads are not permitted to be trailed along the ground unprotected from the power source. The Show Society appreciates your co-operation.

ACCIDENT & PUBLIC RISK INSURANCE

Any accident occurring during the period of the Show must be reported to the Secretary’s Office and verified during the current dates of the Show, otherwise the Robertson Show Society will accept NO responsibility for the consideration of any claims
