Horse Regulations

  1. All competition at this show is governed by these regulations and by the Agricultural Societies Council of NSW Rules for Discipline in Horse Sections at Shows. These can be viewed at www.agshowsnsw.org.au. Should it become necessary for the ASC Disciplinary Committee to open an inquiry into any aspect of competition in this Horse show, this society will support any penalty imposed by that Committee as a result of the inquiry and will support penalties resulting from enquiries arising from Horse Sections at other
    NSW shows.
  2. Drug testing may be carried out at this show. Any competitor, exhibitor or owner found to have breached the ASC Disputes and
    Disciplinary regulations will be investigated by the ASC Disciplinary Committee and dealt with accordingly.
  3. INDEMNITY AND WAIVER FORMS: The Horse Committee will take all care in managing the Section, but competitors taking
    part in this Horse Section do so at their own risk. Each adult competitor must, before competing, complete and sign a form indemnifying the Robertson Show Society and waiving any claims against the Society for any injury sustained in competition or for loss or damage to the competitor’s property or damage caused by the competitor or his/her animal(s) at the Show. A similar form must also be completed and signed by a parent or guardian for each competitor who is under 18 years of age. ALSO, all competitors
    must complete a Horse Health Declaration, each horse with which the competitor has bought onto the Showgrounds must be listed together with the Property Identification Code (PIC) of the property from which the horse came to the Show.
  4. All competitors must wear the wrist band issued when the waiver is signed. People not competing or people who have not signed the waiver and are not wearing a wristband are not permitted to be in the judging arena.
  5. The committee reserves the right to refuse an entry without assigning any reason for doing so and to alter the schedule to meet emerging circumstances.
  6. Owners/exhibitors &/or competitors are solely responsible for the care and control of all horses in their charge. They must exercise due caution in regards to public safety and it is their responsibility to ensure that they have public liability & livestock insurance.
  7. The judge is empowered to withhold any or all prizes in any class where the exhibits are, in his/ her opinion, unworthy of the prize, and at all times the judge’s decision will be final. A judge has the discretion to ask that a led or performance exhibit and or handler / rider / driver be ordered to leave the ring if he/she considers the animal is unruly and /or likely to cause an accident.
  8. Cruelty: any person considered by the committee to be abusive or cruel to a horse will be expelled from the ground. No horse will be permitted to compete if it is in poor health or condition.
  9. Proper conduct: Any exhibitor or associate who behaves offensively will be expelled from the showground, may be banned from the show in future and may be banned by other Societies.
  10. Competitors & handlers must obey the directions of the stewards.
  11. Spectators are not permitted in the judging ring.
  12. No exhibitor or associated will initiate conversation with a judge on judging day, before, during or after judging except through the ringmaster or chief steward.
  13. No competitor will present for judging before a judge with whom he/she has a family relationship, has or has recently had a personal relationship or has had horse related business dealings during the past twelve months
  14. Any person detected coaching a competitor while that competitor is being judged may be removed from the showground
  15. Breeds – All horses must be registered with the respective breed societies and the owner financial. Papers must be produced if requested.
  16. Juniors are to be under 17 yrs of age on the first day of show, unless stated otherwise.
  17. Entry fees will not be refunded.
  18. Attire – Exhibitors & competitors are to be properly attired for the class in which they are entered, according to recognized Equestrian
    Australia (EA) or Association standards.
  19. Sharpened spurs are not allowed.
  20. The Robertson Show Committee may change any judge without notice
  21. Helmets – every rider is encouraged to wear a safety helmet compliant with the current Australian Standard. Riders under 18 must wear such a helmet.
  22. All Riders are advised to wear approved ASA Helmets.
  23. Approved riding boots are to be worn while competing.
  24. No electric fencing or rope yards permitted
  25. A protest or complaint against any exhibit or exhibitor may be lodged verbally with the ringmaster or chief steward no later than 10
    minutes after the judging of the exhibit or exhibitor. The Ringmaster or Chief steward must be provided with the exact nature of the
    complaint and act, if necessary, to maintain competitive fairness. The Ringmaster or chief steward may choose to refer the matter to the Protests Committee, which shall comprise the President of the Society, or a Vice President and two other members of the General committee. A protest or complaint or an appeal against the decision of the Ringmaster or Chief Steward may be lodged in writing with the secretary no later than 10pm on the day of the judging. Such protest, complaint or appeal shall be accompanied by a deposit of $50 which shall be forfeited if the protest, complaint or appeal proves to be frivolous or vexatious. A matter lodged this way shall be dealt with by the protests Committee within 24 hours of lodgment and the decision of the Protests Committee shall be final. NB; No protest or complaint will be considered if it refers to a judge’s decision.
  26. Horses’ age to be calculated from August 1st.
  27. Stallions must be wearing a bit at all times when being led and must be under the control of a person 17 years of age or older. They must be supervised at all times and securely fastened when tied to the outside of a truck or float. They are not eligible to compete in ridden classes unless their eligibility is specifically stated in the schedule.
  28. Show Hunter Horses may not also compete in the Ridden hack, Galloway or Pony classes.
  29. Ridden Ponies, Galloways and Hacks may not also compete in the Show Hunter classes.
  30. NOVICE means any horse or rider that has not won a first place in any individual event at any show.
  31. INTERMEDIATE means a horse or rider who has not won a first, second or third place in a solo event at any state Royal Show.
  32. A horse can compete only in either the Adults OR Childs classes. Entry in any one of these events renders the exhibit ineligible for the other.
  33. Ponies with adult riders – ponies may be ridden by adults unless otherwise stated in the schedule.
  34. Lateness to the ring – competitors must be ready when called. Once judging has commenced a competing horse shall not be led, ridden or driven into or out of the judging ring without the permission of the judge and/or the ringmaster or Chief Steward.
  35. Current Show Horse Council / EA Measuring certificate will be accepted and is to be produced on request. No official measuring will take place at the show so if no proof of height is available following a dispute, a decision will be at the absolute discretion of the Chief Steward and horse committee.
  36. Open class winners, Champions and Reserve Champion award getters are unable to compete in the Round Two Pony, Galloway, Hack or Show Hunter Pony, Show Hunter Galloway or Show Hunter Hack ridden classes.
  37. In case of an exhibit requiring veterinary inspection/treatment whilst at this event exhibitors agree all costs incurred are their responsibility.
  38. SUPREME CHAMPION SHOW HACK will be judged at the conclusion of all Champions. Champions from the classes marked with a gold star are eligible.
  39. SUPREME CHAMPION SHOW HUNTER HACK will be judged at the conclusion of all first and second round Champions. Champions from the following classes marked with a blue star are eligible.

Off The Track NSW Inc official qualifying regulations

  • Off The Track is open to all Thoroughbreds that have been lodged in a stable return for pre-training and race preps, & those that have officially raced or barrier trialed, locally, nationally or internationally.
  • All horses are required to be 3 years and over and be no less than 14.2hh.
  • All horses will be Registered with Racing Australia. Registrations and stable returns for those that did not make it to the races will be checked.
  • Racing Name is to be used other than those that were unnamed due to injuries during pre-training etc. In this instance, please contact us before entering classes for your clearance.
  • Qualifying shows must be affiliated with The Agricultural Societies of NSW Ltd, or Show Horse Council of Australasia Inc.
  • Off The Track NSW Qualifying classes will be judged as separate classes. Led, Ridden, Rider Classes, Show jumping, Dressage & Fashions Off The Field.
  • Any horse that has won Champion cannot compete in other qualifiers within the season.
  • The season is a calendar year. Any place getters at other finals are NOT Permitted to enter the Off The Track NSW Inc Finals/Championships. Please choose your finals ahead of time. Any horse that qualifies under Off The Track NSW Inc IS NOT eligible to use our qualifiers for other clubs/organisations. Once an OTT has won Champion, that horse cannot compete in other qualifiers within the season.
  • Horses that have won Reserve Champion or Runner up may continue. Any horse that has won a Champion or Reserve Off The Track NSW in the past 3 years but has NOT won a place at other finals are eligible to enter the Off The track NSW Inc Finals/Championships. This includes Off The Track NSW Show Jumping Champions.
  • Random drug testing may be carried out.
  • The committee reserves the right to refuse an entry without assigning any reason for doing so and to alter the program/schedule at their discretion.
  • Horses will be judged as a good example of a thoroughbred, rather than that of a riding horse/hunter type, with the following taken into consideration: Thoroughbred qualities / Conformation / Manners / Paces and performance
  • Injuries caused through racing, such as blemishes, are allowed.
  • Judges decision is final in the qualifiers, and the state finals/championships.
  • Horse and owner must reside in NSW to compete in the Off The Track NSW Inc Series.
  • Every horse that enters the finals/championships must be ridden by the same rider that qualified the horse, unless the horse has been sold. In this case the new owner may apply to Off The Track NSW Inc at least one month prior to nominations.

Horse Regulations

  1. All competition at this show is governed by these regulations and by the Agricultural Societies Council of NSW Rules for Discipline in Horse Sections at Shows. These can be viewed at www.agshowsnsw.org.au. Should it become necessary for the ASC Disciplinary Committee to open an inquiry into any aspect of competition in this Horse show, this society will support any penalty imposed by that Committee as a result of the inquiry and will support penalties resulting from enquiries arising from Horse Sections at other
    NSW shows.
  2. Drug testing may be carried out at this show. Any competitor, exhibitor or owner found to have breached the ASC Disputes and
    Disciplinary regulations will be investigated by the ASC Disciplinary Committee and dealt with accordingly.
  3. INDEMNITY AND WAIVER FORMS: The Horse Committee will take all care in managing the Section, but competitors taking
    part in this Horse Section do so at their own risk. Each adult competitor must, before competing, complete and sign a form indemnifying the Robertson Show Society and waiving any claims against the Society for any injury sustained in competition or for loss or damage to the competitor’s property or damage caused by the competitor or his/her animal(s) at the Show. A similar form must also be completed and signed by a parent or guardian for each competitor who is under 18 years of age. ALSO, all competitors
    must complete a Horse Health Declaration, each horse with which the competitor has bought onto the Showgrounds must be listed together with the Property Identification Code (PIC) of the property from which the horse came to the Show.
  4. All competitors must wear the wrist band issued when the waiver is signed. People not competing or people who have not signed the waiver and are not wearing a wristband are not permitted to be in the judging arena.
  5. The committee reserves the right to refuse an entry without assigning any reason for doing so and to alter the schedule to meet emerging circumstances.
  6. Owners/exhibitors &/or competitors are solely responsible for the care and control of all horses in their charge. They must exercise due caution in regards to public safety and it is their responsibility to ensure that they have public liability & livestock insurance.
  7. The judge is empowered to withhold any or all prizes in any class where the exhibits are, in his/ her opinion, unworthy of the prize, and at all times the judge’s decision will be final. A judge has the discretion to ask that a led or performance exhibit and or handler / rider / driver be ordered to leave the ring if he/she considers the animal is unruly and /or likely to cause an accident.
  8. Cruelty: any person considered by the committee to be abusive or cruel to a horse will be expelled from the ground. No horse will be permitted to compete if it is in poor health or condition.
  9. Proper conduct: Any exhibitor or associate who behaves offensively will be expelled from the showground, may be banned from the show in future and may be banned by other Societies.
  10. Competitors & handlers must obey the directions of the stewards.
  11. Spectators are not permitted in the judging ring.
  12. No exhibitor or associated will initiate conversation with a judge on judging day, before, during or after judging except through the ringmaster or chief steward.
  13. No competitor will present for judging before a judge with whom he/she has a family relationship, has or has recently had a personal relationship or has had horse related business dealings during the past twelve months
  14. Any person detected coaching a competitor while that competitor is being judged may be removed from the showground
  15. Breeds – All horses must be registered with the respective breed societies and the owner financial. Papers must be produced if requested.
  16. Juniors are to be under 17 yrs of age on the first day of show, unless stated otherwise.
  17. Entry fees will not be refunded.
  18. Attire – Exhibitors & competitors are to be properly attired for the class in which they are entered, according to recognized Equestrian
    Australia (EA) or Association standards.
  19. Sharpened spurs are not allowed.
  20. The Robertson Show Committee may change any judge without notice
  21. Helmets – every rider is encouraged to wear a safety helmet compliant with the current Australian Standard. Riders under 18 must wear such a helmet.
  22. All Riders are advised to wear approved ASA Helmets.
  23. Approved riding boots are to be worn while competing.
  24. No electric fencing or rope yards permitted
  25. A protest or complaint against any exhibit or exhibitor may be lodged verbally with the ringmaster or chief steward no later than 10
    minutes after the judging of the exhibit or exhibitor. The Ringmaster or Chief steward must be provided with the exact nature of the
    complaint and act, if necessary, to maintain competitive fairness. The Ringmaster or chief steward may choose to refer the matter to the Protests Committee, which shall comprise the President of the Society, or a Vice President and two other members of the General committee. A protest or complaint or an appeal against the decision of the Ringmaster or Chief Steward may be lodged in writing with the secretary no later than 10pm on the day of the judging. Such protest, complaint or appeal shall be accompanied by a deposit of $50 which shall be forfeited if the protest, complaint or appeal proves to be frivolous or vexatious. A matter lodged this way shall be dealt with by the protests Committee within 24 hours of lodgment and the decision of the Protests Committee shall be final. NB; No protest or complaint will be considered if it refers to a judge’s decision.
  26. Horses’ age to be calculated from August 1st.
  27. Stallions must be wearing a bit at all times when being led and must be under the control of a person 17 years of age or older. They must be supervised at all times and securely fastened when tied to the outside of a truck or float. They are not eligible to compete in ridden classes unless their eligibility is specifically stated in the schedule.
  28. Show Hunter Horses may not also compete in the Ridden hack, Galloway or Pony classes.
  29. Ridden Ponies, Galloways and Hacks may not also compete in the Show Hunter classes.
  30. NOVICE means any horse or rider that has not won a first place in any individual event at any show.
  31. INTERMEDIATE means a horse or rider who has not won a first, second or third place in a solo event at any state Royal Show.
  32. A horse can compete only in either the Adults OR Childs classes. Entry in any one of these events renders the exhibit ineligible for the other.
  33. Ponies with adult riders – ponies may be ridden by adults unless otherwise stated in the schedule.
  34. Lateness to the ring – competitors must be ready when called. Once judging has commenced a competing horse shall not be led, ridden or driven into or out of the judging ring without the permission of the judge and/or the ringmaster or Chief Steward.
  35. Current Show Horse Council / EA Measuring certificate will be accepted and is to be produced on request. No official measuring will take place at the show so if no proof of height is available following a dispute, a decision will be at the absolute discretion of the Chief Steward and horse committee.
  36. Open class winners, Champions and Reserve Champion award getters are unable to compete in the Round Two Pony, Galloway, Hack or Show Hunter Pony, Show Hunter Galloway or Show Hunter Hack ridden classes.
  37. In case of an exhibit requiring veterinary inspection/treatment whilst at this event exhibitors agree all costs incurred are their responsibility.
  38. SUPREME CHAMPION SHOW HACK will be judged at the conclusion of all Champions. Champions from the classes marked with a gold star are eligible.
  39. SUPREME CHAMPION SHOW HUNTER HACK will be judged at the conclusion of all first and second round Champions. Champions from the following classes marked with a blue star are eligible.

Off The Track NSW Inc official qualifying regulations

  • Off The Track is open to all Thoroughbreds that have been lodged in a stable return for pre-training and race preps, & those that have officially raced or barrier trialed, locally, nationally or internationally.
  • All horses are required to be 3 years and over and be no less than 14.2hh.
  • All horses will be Registered with Racing Australia. Registrations and stable returns for those that did not make it to the races will be checked.
  • Racing Name is to be used other than those that were unnamed due to injuries during pre-training etc. In this instance, please contact us before entering classes for your clearance.
  • Qualifying shows must be affiliated with The Agricultural Societies of NSW Ltd, or Show Horse Council of Australasia Inc.
  • Off The Track NSW Qualifying classes will be judged as separate classes. Led, Ridden, Rider Classes, Show jumping, Dressage & Fashions Off The Field.
  • Any horse that has won Champion cannot compete in other qualifiers within the season.
  • The season is a calendar year. Any place getters at other finals are NOT Permitted to enter the Off The Track NSW Inc Finals/Championships. Please choose your finals ahead of time. Any horse that qualifies under Off The Track NSW Inc IS NOT eligible to use our qualifiers for other clubs/organisations. Once an OTT has won Champion, that horse cannot compete in other qualifiers within the season.
  • Horses that have won Reserve Champion or Runner up may continue. Any horse that has won a Champion or Reserve Off The Track NSW in the past 3 years but has NOT won a place at other finals are eligible to enter the Off The track NSW Inc Finals/Championships. This includes Off The Track NSW Show Jumping Champions.
  • Random drug testing may be carried out.
  • The committee reserves the right to refuse an entry without assigning any reason for doing so and to alter the program/schedule at their discretion.
  • Horses will be judged as a good example of a thoroughbred, rather than that of a riding horse/hunter type, with the following taken into consideration: Thoroughbred qualities / Conformation / Manners / Paces and performance
  • Injuries caused through racing, such as blemishes, are allowed.
  • Judges decision is final in the qualifiers, and the state finals/championships.
  • Horse and owner must reside in NSW to compete in the Off The Track NSW Inc Series.
  • Every horse that enters the finals/championships must be ridden by the same rider that qualified the horse, unless the horse has been sold. In this case the new owner may apply to Off The Track NSW Inc at least one month prior to nominations.

EXHIBITORS, COMPETITORS & STALLHOLDERS REQUIREMENT UNDER WORK HEALTH AND SAFETY ACT 2011

Any person using electrical equipment (power leads/devices/appliances etc) whilst on the Showground is required to ensure that such equipment is fitted with earth leakage circuit breakers & that all such leads/appliances/devices etc have been inspected & tagged by a licensed electrical contractor.

Persons who do not comply with the above regulations will not be permitted to exhibit, operate a stand/stall, or compete on the show ground.

Robertson A & H Society Inc. reserves the right to disconnect any electrical leads/devices/equipment that do not comply with the above regulation.

To avoid any problems arising in regard to the above regulations it is advised that you check your electrical equipment BEFORE you come to the Showground. Electrical leads are not permitted to be trailed along the ground unprotected from the power source. The Show Society appreciates your co-operation.

ACCIDENT & PUBLIC RISK INSURANCE:

Any accident occurring during the period of the Show must be reported to the Secretary’s Office and verified during the current dates of the Show, otherwise the Robertson Show Society will accept NO responsibility for the consideration of any claims.
